Watermelon is a juicy fruit liked by everyone in summer. In different parts it is produced at river banks by placing fencing.

Sowing can be done from December to January. Safety measures has to be done on river banks while sowing. In other places sowing is done in February and early March. It gives good yield if fertilizer is added to sandy soil.

In ground level regions sowing can be done from mid February till first week of March and in December or January by applying safety measures on the river banks, by growing plants in plastic bags.

30 tons of decomposed fertilizer, 400 kg Calcium Amonium Nitrate or 200 kg Urea, 300 kg SuperPhosphate and 100 kg Murate of Potash should be used per hectare. Do not use any type of manure in the flowering stage.
