The seeds should be sown at the depth of 1 cm and at the distance of 5-7 cm. Generally 400 gm of seeds is enough for one hectare while in case of Shanker variety 250 gm of seeds is sufficient. For the varieties which occupy more space, the distance between two rows should be 70 cm and distance between two plants in a row should be 60 cm, for the varieties which occupy comparatively less space the distance between two rows and distance between two plants in a row should be 60 x 60 cm or 60 x 45 cm.
