The main functions of Seed Production Division are :
|
|
|
To organise seed production programme at shareholders farm as well as at the farm of other progressive seed growers as per target fixed in the Seed Plan for U.P. State as well as other states.
|
|
|
Arrangements for the foundation seed production and its distribution to the seed growers,inspection of the seed production fields to ensure genetic purity and disease free seeds. Assist seed producers in crop management and adoption of plant-protection measures.
|
|
|
Installation, management and operations of seed processing plants. Proper storage of unprocessed as well as processed seed.
|
|
|
To ensure the availability of foundation seed, the Corporation places indent for breeder Seed with the Ministry of Agriculture, GOI through Director, Agriculture, U.P. Incase of breeder seed shortage, foundation seed Stage I is used for foundation seed production.
|
|
|
Providing gunny bags free of cost to its seed growers, to ensure timely supply of pure seed.
|
|
|
Providing all other facilities to the seed growers which are required from time for quality seed production.
|
