Dr. P L Gautam, (Vice Chancellor) Green revolution, a dream of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, led to the foundation of G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar in the year 1960. This University has now become a lead Institution for producing quality human resources, technology and its direct utilization for the agricultural development of the country. Being the first Agricultural University of the country on the land grant pattern of U.S.A., it has always occupied an eminent place amongst the State Agricultural Universities of India (SAUs) for the last four decades. Over the years, the University has several achievements to its credit and continues to strive hard to develop excellence in research, extension and education. This immense resource of the University can be harnessed through the use of various information dissemination modes. Internet, as one of the facets of such modes, has almost exasperated the geographical boundaries dividing the nations. In fact, it provides a single window view for the whole world. In the current scenario, no institution can afford to work in isolation for the development and socio economic progress. It necessarily needs to be a part of global interaction and information exchange, and so is this University. Our vision to develop this page is to provide information for our academic standards, thrust and impetus given to its teaching, research and extension, both in quality and quantity. I appeal to the fraternity of agriculture, agribusiness, home science, engineering, veterinary, basic sciences & humanities, fisheries, forestry and other intellectuals to retrieve information available on this web page and share their views with our scientists and administrators.
